The Hollywood Gold Awards have announced their September 2023 selections, and The Marked received the award for Best First-Time Director (Reggie Austin)! Hollywood Gold Awards also conducted an interview with Reggie, which can be found here.

Nominees for the 2023 Burbank International Film Festival have been announced, and The Marked has been nominated for Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Short Film. The awards ceremony, celebrating Tim Burton's career achievements, will be held on Sunday, September 24th.

We’ve just received word that The Marked has won in two categories at 8 & Halfilms Awards, an international film festival based in Rome, Italy. In the August 2023 competition, The Marked won Best Suspense Film and Best Sound Design (Adam Vaughn). We love seeing our amazing crew being celebrated for their excellent work!

The Marked is now an official selection of the 13th Catalina Film Festival, in person from September 20th-24th (and online September 29th-October 8th). The festival will take place both in Long Beach, CA and on Catalina Island itself. More details coming soon!

Thanks to Indy Shorts for a wonderful festival! We loved screening The Marked before a sold-out audience as part of the SCI-FI block, and our director Reggie Austin and the other filmmakers had a blast fielding questions as part of an audience Q&A after the screening.

The Marked is an official selection of the DC Black Film Festival! The festival will take place on August 18th & 19th at The Miracle Theatre in Washington DC (and online August 20th-30th). We’re thrilled to be included in this festival dedicated to diversity and inclusion. Our film will be showing on Friday, August 18th at 5:10pm as part of the This Is What You Came For! block. Tickets are available now.

The results are in! Thanks to all of you, The Marked had the most users and completed views in our category, and received the XOLO.TV Short Film Drama Audience Award from Malibu Film Festival. We are thrilled, and so grateful. Thanks for watching, and for being a part of Team Marked.

We’re so excited to finally be able to announce that The Marked has been selected for the Academy Award® Qualifying Indy Shorts International Film Festival! Our film will be screened in person on Saturday, July 22nd at 7:15pm, and will be available to stream online from July 18th-July 23rd.

The Marked has been chosen as an Official Selection for the 15th Annual Burbank International Film Festival taking place September 21st-24th at the prestigious Burbank AMC 16 Theatres. Our film will screen on Saturday, September 23rd at 1:30pm as part of the Sci-Fi/Supernatural Films #1 block. Tickets are available here.

After the world premiere of The Marked at the 10th Annual Las Vegas Black Film Festival on April 21st, we received additional good news when our own Reggie Austin won the award for Best Director of a Short at the April 23rd ceremony.

We are pleased to announce that our own Wesley Moss (Ivy) has received the April 2023 Award for Best Child/Young Actress for the IndieX Film Fest! In addition to this win, The Marked was nominated in two other categories: Best Thriller Short and Best Ensemble Cast. So excited to be recognized in this way, and so proud of our Ivy!

Thrilled to announce that The Marked has been selected as an "Official Selection" of the 2023 Malibu Film Festival. We are now shortlisted in consideration to be screened in-person on Sunday May 21st. The Marked has been chosen as an official selection for the upcoming Los Angeles Black Film Festival! The film will be screened in Los Angeles at a date to be determined. So excited for our LA premiere!

The Marked is officially an award-winning film! The film has just been awarded in two categories in the March 2023 round of the Independent Shorts Awards, including Bronze for Best Thriller Short and Honorable Mention for Best Ensemble Cast. This also means our film is on the shortlist for the annual awards, nominations for which will be announced in Summer 2023.
